This is a varied walk of 7 miles and 1525' ascent (if we go out and back) or 7.75 miles and 1,800' (if we do a circuit) starting from the Sychnant Pass. The hill is a 2,001' summit close to the coast with extensive views over the Carneddau, Anglesey, the Conwy Valley and beyond.

The walk is mainly on good paths with rougher going on the ascent to and along the summit ridge, and on the initial descent from the summit if we do a circuit. It features prehistoric remains and hopefully wild ponies.

Arrangements for the day

Please meet in the car park for Gwern Engan on the Sychnant Pass road (approx GR 755769) in time for a 10.00am start. Please email me to let me know you're coming, and make sure I have your mobile number for the day. My own mobile is in the members only section below, if you don't already have it/can't access it please email me. Conversely please email me to  let me know if you decide to pull out.

This car park is signed from the road and is the second such car park on the left along it coming from the east. It is a small car park so please make every effort to share cars. Please let me know by email if you want or/and can offer a lift, and from where and when you are starting off. I will put details received on the members only section a week or so before the trip and leave you to take it from there. Coming from the east the best way to get there is to leave the A55 at the last junction before Conwy tunnel and follow the A547 through town, leave it with a sharp left turn immediately on exiting the town walls, then carry on and at the next T junction go right and follow the road up the pass.

Look forward to seeing you, any questions please email me!
