Notes from Mark

I plan to lead a walk from the car park at Hague Bar on Saturday 18th February. It starts with a steep climb up to a local trig point at 327m, then a gentle descent to the Sett Valley trail and then through the Torrs in New Mills and return to the cars beside the river Goyt.

Start 10:30am from Hague Bar car park (GR986857),  distance 6.1 miles with a total ascent of 1190 feet.

Please bring a packed lunch and stout footwear as it will probably be muddy.

The car park is best accessed from the A6 in Disley by turning left onto Redhouse lane just before the White Lion. At the T junction go right onto Waterside road which takes you over the River Goyt. The car park is on the right just before you reach the railway line and the main road.
