There will Music and dancing and enough food to fill a marauding Swede. Notes by Neil

MENU

STARTER - Lentil Soup (vegan/gluten free available)
MAIN - Swedish Meatballs in a special Viking sauce or a veggie meatball alternative or Salmon fillets (for gluten free); Janssens Temptation potatoes and a selection of seasonal vegetables
DESSERT - Boozy Berry Trifle (or gluten free berries and cream)
SMORGASBORD - A selection of meats, cheeses and dips for Vikings with midnight munchies - fermented herrings are unlikely to be available, sorry.

Those who attended our last big event (Burn's Night 2020) know how keen I am on BIG PLATES of food and VALUE FOR MONEY! Any monies remaining from catering will be allocated to vaguely Viking beverages (Carlsberg, probably!).

Our event will also feature...

  • Viking fun and games
  • An Abba soundtrack (until we get bored of it!)
  • Fireside entertainment
  • SPARKLERS (if we are allowed!)

COVID SAFE FEATURES

Its the first "BIG" event at the Hut and for the safety of all attendees we need a plan...

  • Lateral Flow Test within 24-48hrs of attending would be a big help
  • We will be erecting an outdoor covered area with Viking Firepit for warmth and to reduce congestion indoors
  • Those who wish to stay at The Tyn-Y-Coed or one of the local campsites can have lifts to and from the Hut (sober Viking drivers available)
  • We can only accomodate a maximum of 28 in the Hut so places will be strictly allocated in order of receipt of payment (see below)
  • We may number and allocate bunks in family/bubble groups

FANCY DRESS and VIKING DECORATIONS

It seems like an awful long time since we had one of our crazy Fancy Dress Nights so it would be wonderful if everybody could make a special effort. A Viking called Sven (from Hull-holm) has taken charge of decorations and artwork but all vaguely Viking rugs (genuine sheepskin not strictly necessary) and blankets will be gratefully accepted, as will Viking Artwork of your own.
