The centrepiece of this weekend is the opportunity to undertake a supported attempt on the famous  Welsh 3000s’ Challenge on the Saturday.  In order to complete the Challenge you are required to have been at the top of all 15 of the mountains over 3000 ft in Wales within the space of 24 hours, without using any form of transport.

The length is about 24 miles, but the walks to the start point and down from the finish point can take it to over 30 miles in total. This can be a challenge to do the walk in a fast time – or simply to finish one of the best and most demanding walks in the UK.  Many members and friends make a vital contribution by coming to support the walkers at check points.

The route includes a traverse of the Crib Goch ridge (left)

See the document dated 1 July 2017 in the members' area for further information about the Welsh 3000 challenge
