Howgills Camping Trip
The area and details of the meet
The Howgills lie to the East of the Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales. They are great walking country, with big steep sided velvety hills commanding fine views.
The outline plan is to stay at the farm site Cross Hall, just N of Sedbergh. Via the internet this looks a well-appointed site and is in a quiet out of town location. It gives us easy access by car or on foot to the Howgill Fells at Cautley Spout, and to the east onto the remote and wild Baugh Fell.
To the north, Wild Boar Fell gives us further options.
This is an area the Club hasn’t visited for several years and I hope it’ll give new ground for a good few people!
